"Preacher-man" explained Why we should colonise Mars. “Putin” used a translator to describe his Friend Donald. "Georgia O'Hara" explained Sippin’ Whisky on the Road to True Belief. The Queen relived her helicopter experience with 007 and David Attenborough set about saving Toastmasters from Extinction.
Finally, Marcel Marceaux had nothing to say for himself.

Speak-a-thon (27.03.21)
A morning full of variety and vitality. There were speeches on the history of the Open University; a journey through 500 years of mask-wearing; a near-death experience; How we can meet a person and in they split second it can change your life for the better and finally a very special gift that each one of us is able to give to others. The speeches were all evaluated with constructive comments to assist the speakers develop further. These regular Speak-a-thons enable members to enjoy themed meetings, but still progress on their chosen Pathway.

St Patricks Day (16.03.21)
A night when we were all invited to ramp up the Oirish as far as it'll go - wear green and learn our Irish names. Two speeches, a group evaluation and Table Topics with a specific Irish twist.
To keep our attention as the evening progressed BINGO cards with Irish elements were marked off throughout.

Urban Fantasy (02.03.21)
In this city, carved up by vampires, werewolves, and wizards, everyone gets dirty. This modern fantasy night depicted a gritty cast of characters. Table Topics with a twist, involving choosing friends and making enemies, just hoping to get out alive without becoming a ghost — because no one wanted to linger in this city too long!

Oscar Night (16.02.21)
A night full of glamour and glitz. There were speeches from a series of hosts who introduced the nominees with such enthusiasm that was difficult for the nominees to top them, but they did. There was evaluation (after all we are Toastmasters) and finally voting to find the Best Oscar winning speeches and evaluations.

Comedy Corner (02.02.21)
The meeting was facilitated by Jean Stuart, a keynote speaker known as the powerhouse of humour. Jean provided guidance and feedback on a speech outlining the the “Sausage-gate” scandal (despite the obstruction to justice we will continue to protect those responsible).During the comedy Table Topic session, there were no further admissions of illegal activity.

Speak-a-thon (23.01.21)
We commenced the first of our bi-monthly Speak-a-thons to support members reach their goals, and to gain Distinguished Club Programme points.A range of speeches including an Icebreaker, Introduction to Mentoring, reflection on an individual’s Pathway journey and the ‘Death Penny’ given to Great Uncle Charles, lost and now found. Lastly, we listened to a Downing Street-esque briefing on Communicating Change.

Debating Date (10.01.21)
We collaborated with colleagues to develop a convincing argument that we presented to a panel of judges. Having outlined the whole of our argument, we began to build a structured case.Debating is an excellent way to improve speaking skills and assist develop the ability to concisely and clearly express complex issues. We used style to communicate our arguments!

Games Galore (05.01.21)
We heard what happened after Goldilocks was found by the three bears to have stolen their food and wrecked their home. But can bears really cook porridge, of course they can, Would I lie to you? But who said they were bears anyway? We practised impromptu speaking and told each other ‘you are amazing" again, and again, and again.Well, that’s because we are!
